In this final installment, we’ll evaluate some proven methods to help you see the big picture while also following through with day to day tasks. Before reading on, ensure you carry a Delaware Property Management Insurance policy to curb your financial risk should something go awry.

This is a given. Emergencies are the things you absolutely are unable to ignore, but often impede on your day-to-day. Whether it’s a plumbing issue in a unit, a tenant lock-out, or criminal activity in the neighborhood, you weren’t planning for it, but now it’s the most important part of the day. When there isn’t an emergency going on, you should be focusing heavily on projects and organizational changes that can reduce the risk of emergencies occurring in the future, says Lauer Real Estate Group.

Daily procedural tasks.

Since these are expected and routine tasks, such as billing and simple work orders, you can set aside a specific time each day to address them. Whether it’s morning or afternoon, dedicate a certain amount of time each day to ensure all of the boxes are checked.

Projects take time and cannot be completed in a day or overnight. These include renovations, upgrades, new software implementations, and more. Even though these things can’t be done in a day, set aside an hour or so every workday to tend to larger projects that will benefit your renters and your property management firm in the long run.
